Warming up and down is a vital part of the running journey. To ensure you perform at your best and avoid injury the Westpac Warm up and Warm Down will be held before and after the run.
The Westpac Warm Up will gradually starts up your cardiovascular system by raising your body temperature and increasing blood flow to your muscles. Warming down may also help reduce muscle soreness and lessen your risk of injury. The Westpac Warm Down allows for a gradual recovery of the pre-event heart rate and blood pressure, while helping prevent soreness and injury.
Prior to the event, warm ups will be held at the 12km and 6km Start-lines at the following times:
- 12km Startline - Warm Up
- 6km Startline - Warm Up
After the event, warm downs will be held on the Stages at the Colley and Wigley Reserve at the following times:
- Foodland Village (Colley Reserve) Stage - Warm Down
- Wigley Reserve Stage - Warm Down
